I just figured out that I'm located less than 3km from my place of
employment, which means that I can rent a permanent analogue line from
the telecom company for $142 per quarter. Which is half what my phone
bill is now.
Guess what. I'm going plugged.
This means that I can set up things like remote CVS server thingies,
as well as setting up web/ftp access to the development tree and the
gnus-bug archive. And stuff like nntp servers serving the ding list
and the gnus-bug archive. And... stuff.
It looks like it'll only be a 33k line (ie., two 33k baud line
modems), but I'll have to ask around a bit and see how much bandwidth
it'll carry.
It'll happen primo February.
