When moving to the button and pressing , dired "tar" mode is called in an 'mm' buffer. Of course one could use those commands to work with the files, save them etc. But how about just a direct save to file. I find no commands for that with C-h m in summary buffer or article buffer. When recieving a *tar.gz file then I am given the opportunity to save it direct to file when pressing on its button. The same approach with a *.tar file calls up dired and displays the tarred files. -- Harry Putnam reader@newsguy.com Running Redhat Linux-5.1
