Yeah, I know.  They're terrible aren't they?

Because Lars decided to get rid of the old working 'smiley.el' and
replace it with the "less-than-optimal" 'smiley-ems.el'.  I've asked
Lars a couple of times to put things back the way they were, but so
far my pleas have fallen on deaf ears. 

Lars, please please put the old 'smiley.el' back, the one that's there
now is absolutely horrible for XEmacs users.

Just take the 'smiley.el' from the XEmacs packages and drop it into
your Oort directory.
