Support for IMAP in Gnus, Red Gnus and/or VM

I know that there is support for POP in Gnus and VM, but is there also
support for IMAP in any of these programs?

Does anyone read through the archives of this mailing list before
posting questions like this?  I'm working on IMAP support right now.
Not as a backend, but just as a method of downloading your mail to be
handled by nnml, et al.
