Hi,

people on the German Gnus newsgroup reported[1] that canceling
articles (canlock) using XEmacs requires the `ecrypto' package. This
package isn't listed in the manual:

,----[ (info "(gnus)XEmacs") ]
| XEmacs is distributed as a collection of packages. You should install
| whatever packages the Gnus XEmacs package requires. The current
| requirements are `gnus', `w3', `mh-e', `mailcrypt', `rmail', `eterm',
| `mail-lib', `xemacs-base', `sh-script' and `fsf-compat'. The
| `misc-games' package is required for Morse decoding.
`----

Or is it contained in "whatever packages the Gnus XEmacs package"?

Bye, Reiner.

An old Charlie Brown comic strip. But don't ask me which character
said it, or what it was in response to.

Hopefully my ding group is well configured and I can't reply only to
the poster when pressing either 'r' or 'R' :) I have to do it manually
;)

Hm... I can't find any ecrypto.el in Emacs 21, and canlock works
here. Does XEmacs need more crypto stuff to do canlock?

The XEmacs "ecrypto" package has things like: hex-util.el,
sha1-el.el. So to prevent duplication and lisp shadowings the XEmacs
Gnus package maintainer, the great guy that he is, removes these files
From the XEmacs Gnus package.

Ah, right. And I see that the latest gnus.texi mentions the ecrypto
package, so that's ok...

Yes this is normally the default but with this:

,----
| (define-key gnus-summary-mode-map "F" 'gnus-summary-reply-with-original)
| (define-key gnus-summary-mode-map "R" 'gnus-summary-followup-with-original)
`----

in my .gnus.el :)
