It's a shame too. I hate to see LDAP bloated for that kind of thing. I'm able to stretch my mind just enough to see LDAP as a naming service for UNIX, but as a preference database--that just seems way untidy. I've been tempted to play with the thing on my.gnus.org for storing stuff in an IMAP folder or something like that, but so little time to play right now. -- Amos
