Yeah, that works, if include (setq gnus-select-method '(nnfolder "" (nnfolder-get-new-mail nil) (nnfolder-inhibit-expiry t))) otherwise it crashes. I've read the info docs and combed through my ~/.newsrc.eld, but I'm still at a loss as to why it still attempts to connect to "news" via nntp. No NNTP* or NEWS env. Got (setq gnus-nntp-server nil) to be sure. No /etc/nntpserver. Does it automatically look for a host name "news"? Oh well, will fiddle with it more later. -- Amos
