Unfortunately every now and again it hiccupped. Since Gnus started being much more efficient with Gnus I moved to a Gnus "native" IMAP connection but would really like it to play properly with the agent. Agent and Splitting just confue the hell out of me ;) Thanks for the offer of sharing but I still have my old setup somewhere but I its not important enough for me to go back to at this time.
