MS Outlook already does this. One can set flags and add all kinds of Outlook-specific options to a message in an IMAP mailbox; Outlook marks the original message for deletion and adds a new, augmented message in its place. This duplicate-delete approach confused me at first, but it's better than forcing the messages to be logically immutable. -- Steven E. Harris
