Uh, the whitelist features would make the world a much better place. I'd certainly be willing to offer an extra "reply" the first time I mail a new person, in exchange for getting rid of the spam. The mangled, temporary Usenet from adresses are pure evil though. They break all the nice odd features that depend on each person having a rarely changing id, such as bbdb, google profiles, welcome letters, and whitelist moderated newsgroups. Although if they are used as Reply-To instead of From, they are not that harmful.
