Native English speaking people are a bit shy on these matters,
probably because they are embarrassed of their lack of language skills,
which is why it important the rest of us insist on these practical
matters.

No, but for someone who thinks it should be enough to learn _one_
foreign language in order to conveniently maintain and contribute to
code in the GNU project, it is a very practical attitude.  It probably
wouldn't be a problem for me if Lars wrote in Bokmċl, however having
to look up strings and comments in Masanobu UMEDA's original code in
some translation library would be a significant burden.  And if Lars
chose to write Gnus in Nynorsk, I'd probably never contribute anything.

I'm not sure it would be wise to try to explain the intrinsic
superiority of the English language to a Canadian with a French name,
so I'll refrain from doing this here.
