The new groups.google.com is certainly more complete than our local
newsfeed.  Does g.g.c carry enough information to be used as a news
server for gnus?

I don't think so; they have removed the dejanews facility which
allowed you to download the original article in text format, so I
don't know of any way of accessing the message-id for example.

They have an email address where you can send suggestions :-)
