X-faces are fine here: Oort Gnus v0.04 (today's tarball), GNU Emacs
21.0.103.2 (i586-pc-linux-gnu, X toolkit) of 2001-05-10 on
g.wolfram.com.

Unlike Oystein Viggen, I have no helpful hints.
