Subject: hiding (or abbreviating) long lists of recipients
Date: Tue, 16 Apr 2002 15:11:08 -0700 [thread overview]
Message-ID: <s5tn0w3wayr.fsf@goedel2.math.washington.edu> (raw)
Every now and then, someone sends me and 50 other people email, with
all of our addresses in the "To" field. I see that if I set
gnus-boring-article-headers and gnus-treat-hide-boring-headers
appropriately, I can completely hide this header. What I *really*
want, though, is for it to be abbreviated, so that it looks like this:
To: bozo@clown.com, dubya@whitehouse.gov, ...
Or maybe it could look like this:
To: [addresses of 51 recipients hidden]
Is this functionality built into gnus? I'm looking for a variable
that says to abbreviate long lists of recipients in the To field, and
perhaps a customization that controls how many addresses (or lines of
addresses?) appear before the rest are replaced with "...".
If it's not built in, has anyone done something like this with
gnus-part-display-hook?

Gnus doesn't kill people, Emacs kills people.
