This happens, um, "sometimes" at random when I enter a group. I think
it's related to the fact that I have my
gnus-summary-display-while-building turned on. The odd thing is that
if I kill the buffer and re-enter the group, it doesn't happen again.

Try M-: (load "gnus-sum.el") RET to generate a better backtrace.
