Please do. For now, I have changed `gmm-utils.el' to use `defun'
instead of `gmm-defun-compat' until the API changes are finished.

BTW, one thing about `gmm-defun-compat' I don't like is that the
`gmm-utils.el' link in...

| Emacs 21 and XEmacs don't have `image-search-load-path'.

in library `gmm-utils.el'" instead of jumping to "(gmm-defun-compat
gmm-image-search-load-path ...)" in `gmm-utils.el'.
