I think, I found where the problem is: I'm working under MS Windows, using a starttls compiled by me under the cygwin environment. Could it be possible that there are CRLF vs. CR problems? I've got this idea because the IMAP-LOG buffer has extra linefeeds in it (every line looks like this: foo bar foo bar^M schlurps murks^M ) -- Did you ever realize how much text fits in eighty columns? If you now consider that a signature usually consists of up to four lines, this gives you enough space to spread a tremendous amount of information with your messages. So seize this opportunity and don't waste your signature with bullshit nobody will read.
