Hi,
the variable `gnus-agent' is not properly documented in the manual.
It should be mentioned (including an index entry) in (info "(gnus)Gnus
Unplugged") or (info "(gnus)Agent Basics"), I think.
All we have is this:

I've added it to Agent Variables, and Gnus Unplugged.
