IMO that happens rather seldom but > more often I see articles with a colon as indicator for a citation. The right solution would be (IMO) to have two categories of citation marks: Frequently used ones and seldom used ones. For the seldom used ones, Gnus should only mark lines beginning with those as quotes if the are several such lines. So in article 1 ------------------------------------ From: Foo Subject: Bar Blindtext Blindtext Blindtext Blindtext Blindtext : Blindtext Blindtext Blindtext Blindtext Blindtext Blindtext Blindtext Blindtext Blindtext Blindtext Blindtext Blindtext Blindtext Blindtext Blindtext ----------------------------------- the second line of the body wouldn't be marked as a quote but in article 2 ------------------------------------ From: Foo Subject: Bar :Blindtext Blindtext Blindtext Blindtext Blindtext Blindtext Blindtext Blindtext Blindtext Blindtext :Blindtext Blindtext Blindtext Blindtext Blindtext Blindtext Blindtext Blindtext Blindtext Blindtext ----------------------------------- lines 1 and 3 of the body should be marked as quotes. -- One Ring to rule them all, One Ring to find them, One Ring to bring them all and in the darkness bind them In the Land of Mordor where the Shadows lie.
