Sometimes the reply list is nuked, sometimes it's the 'tick' list; the latter is especially painful because if expiry kicks in then I can permanently lose mail. What happens is that I tick a message, leave the group and later come back to see that only that most recently ticked message is still there. I cannot correlate this with any other activity or any specific configuration settings. I have resorted to backing up .newsrc.eld a few times a day and manually pasting the reply and tick lists back in when they disappear. - J<
