I am on the list, but I don't necessarily read it every day.  I read
owner mail several times daily.

Of course you won't see that header if you're reading the CC I sent
you, since the message didn't go through the list.

Obviously the envelope sender has to exist and be somewhat stable;
otherwise the list would never receive bounces.  So you can always
filter on that, regardless of what headers may or may not be added by
the mailing list software.
