Ok,
I select my inbox. gnus sez
How many articles from nnml:inbox (default 202):
I press ENTER. Yet, if I enter the group, there is only one mail (read). And
swa@mind:~> ls -la Mail/inbox/
total 25
drwx------ 2 swa learning 10240 Nov 21 13:52 .
drwx------ 116 swa learning 3072 Nov 21 13:49 ..
-rw------- 1 swa learning 214 Nov 21 13:48 .overview
