I can't connect to imap.

(setq gnus-select-method
'(nnimap "mail.ninthfloor.com"
(nnimap-stream starttls))).
Opening connection to mail.ninthfloor.com...
Unable to open server nnimap+mail.ninthfloor.com due to: Failed connect:
connection timed out.

First question: Can you connect to the mail server from the machine your
gnus is running on?
If your gnus is running on a unix or unix-like system, do:
telnet mail.ninthfloor.com 143
from a command line, and see what happens.
