I'm afraid I can't replicate the problem now, because I went ahead and blew away all of my gnus configuration files and started over. The process was slightly painful, but it seems to have fixed things - for the most part. However, afterwards I did notice disappearing mail in my linux-kernel folder. I managed to fix this by moving all of the few hundred messages back into the folder, causing them all to be renumbered (starting around 20000!). Otherwise, things seem to be working now. If this problem resurfaces, I'll be sure to look at the .overview files to see if they are getting updated or not. --Anil P.S. The server buffer really saved me a lot of time when I was starting over! The only thing that confused me a bit was the fact that you can subscribe to the same nnml group multiple times if you aren't careful. P.P.S. I love Gnus! - -- Anil Somayaji (soma@cs.unm.edu) http://www.cs.unm.edu/~soma (617)864-0122 -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: 2.6.2 iQCVAwUBMxnvhULkmkLHxWM5AQFpaAP/dhLZe34YIDUazpDXXfH0SsEx9gUzMDbG qkuHovLkIB94S/WNpKvy8OcfdUToWTn657Bf4khpOAvCoghJ5U044QbPKySJ4t6k bzCTasXwPvHMOLN48j0+67l0/xneVh7s3NlfGFy1yCHfvId/g1iGlMlqWoSzJCdr 1yZzfQLpTyQ= =wunF -----END PGP SIGNATURE-----
