Subject: Couldn't open server?
Date: 19 Feb 1999 10:46:53 -0500 [thread overview]
Message-ID: <uu2wie6qa.fsf@home.com> (raw)
During the last couple of days, it occurred several times that when I
tried to enter a "regular" news group in gnus, it *immediately*
(i.e. apparently without trying anything) said "couldn't open
server". Quitting and restarting gnus seems to fix the situation. I
*think* that in all those situations, my news server had been really
unavailable for some time before - could it be that gnus "remembered"
that it could not open the server last time, and didn't even try
again?
