Subject: KOI8 in pgnus

I've got no answer to my posting with the Subject: charset for sending
mail of 15 Nov 1999, Message-ID: <uud7tcuqx6.fsf@nbsp.nsk.su>; yet it
is important for me to decide whether pgnus is a suitable mail tool
for Russian.
So far I was unable to send a message in koi8-r from pgnus. I can
post in iso-8859-* as I expect; but everything that I send in koi8-r
comes in iso-8859-5 (this message is an example).
Rmail with MULE does it as expected.
Can anyone send a koi8-r message from pgnus?
Is really so unimportant that pgnus fails to support the encoding
which is standard for e-mail in Russia?
Test koi8: проба
