I had this happen today (see my message "Cannot send .zip
attachments") with zipped attachments only. This seems to be related
to some changes at my smtp server as I tried it w/3 different versions
of (p)gnus (97, 98 and 5.8.2) today with same results, but am sure it
worked up to a few days ago. OTOH this still looks like a bug in gnus
to me as I had no trouble sending the same attachment using the same
smtp server from MS Outlook Express.
