It appears from poking around in gnus-sum that, when it comes to news, Gnus wants to be the only window in your frame no matter what :) Gnus info has this to say abut the variable: Setting this variable to `nil' kinda works, but there are glitches. Use at your own peril. Does anyone know why this inconsistency in Gnus exists?
