Shouldn't this change go to Emacs_22 (v5-10) as well?  Or can you
imagine any problems?

Could be.  Doesn't seem important enough, and I don't know if it's safe
enough either.  I just happened to bump into it, but since I'm the
first, it seems it's not that important.
