`coding-system-p' is a standard Emacs interface:

The function `find-coding-system' doesn't exist in Emacs 21/22.
In case it wasn't obvious: mm-coding-system-list (the function) is
aliased to "ignore" if (fbound 'coding-system-list) is nil.
Leaving this for the XEmacs folks...
