I can't reproduce it. I just updated and bootstrapped. There was no
warning for `gnus-group.el':
Compiling [...]/cvs-HEAD/emacs/lisp/./gnus/gnus-group.el
Wrote [...]/cvs-HEAD/emacs/lisp/gnus/gnus-group.elc
