For Emacs it's quite simple, isn't it? Gnus 5.7, 5.9, 5.11 ==> bundled with Emacs. Gnus 5.8.x, 5.10.x ==> Gnus.org. Anyhow, Gnus 5.11 is ready for inclusion in Emacs CVS and this should be done soon.
