Hi,

people reported in the German Gnus group that mail splitting doesn't
work if there a many recipients in the "To:" header. The problem is
that `nmail-split-header-length-limit'[1] defaults to 512 which seems
to be too small for many people. If we assume an average length of 40
chars for each address, a value of 512 includes only 12 recipients.

According to the ChangeLogs, the default value was last changed in
1999. How about increasing it to 1024 or 2048? People in the German
group reported that there is no remarkable slow down even with values
like 5000 on 550MHz PCs. Unless anyone objects, I will increase it to
2048 in the trunk and in v5-10.

Bye, Reiner.
