And so does the article if you recover and send the message. IMHO news clients that don't generate proper `References:' headers (even if it only happens from in case of an error) suck. Therefore, I suggest to change the *default* value of `message-generate-headers-first' to '(references) as a workaround. Opinions? A proper solution would be to force writing the `References:' even if `message-generate-headers-first' is nil somehow.
