Hi,
with a recent version from CVS (Fri Jan 10 20:04:51 CET 2003),
`C-h i d gnus RET i filter RET' gives me the following backtrace:

Apparently `.' characters are not OK in node names because of
indexing. Fixed wherever I noticed it - please let me know if I
missed anything.
