Not exactly, we will release both:

- A new stable version "Gnus 5.10.10" (from the v5-10 branch,
  corresponding to EMACS_22_BASE).

- A new development (snapshot) release "No Gnus 0.8" (from the Gnus
  trunk, corresponding to Emacs trunk).

But as mentioned previously, Emacs 23 users are not supposed to use
these releases, so WRT the releases, there's no problem.
