IIRC the XEmacs version supports it to, but I have no idea about the
assignment status there.

If you are sure who wrote the UIDL code an he has assigned it, we
should probably add it to v5-10 (as a bug fix), too.

Sounds rather like new features than a bug fix to me. Thus it should
only be installed in the trunk (No Gnus).
