Subject: Header folding inserts one space too many?
Date: 12 May 2001 13:18:16 +0200 [thread overview]
Message-ID: <vaf1ypug6iv.fsf@lucy.cs.uni-dortmund.de> (raw)
Sometimes, Gnus transforms a Subject header like this
/----
| Subject: foo bar
\----
into several lines, like this:
/----
| Subject: foo
| bar
\----
Note that the second line starts with two spaces. But the RFC says
that in headers, CRLF followed by a whitespace character is equivalent
to the whitespace character. So this would be the same as
/----
| Subject: foo bar
\----
which has one space too many.
