* C-c C-m or C-c RET? @ 2000-12-24 0:58 Simon Josefsson 2000-12-24 14:34 ` Florian Weimer 2000-12-26 22:50 ` Kai Großjohann 0 siblings, 2 replies; 3+ messages in thread From: Simon Josefsson @ 2000-12-24 0:58 UTC (permalink / raw) When updating documentation for the `M-m' -> `C-c C-m' change I noticed that emacs treat `C-c C-m' as `C-c RET'. To be consistent with `C-h m' etc, we should probably use `C-c RET' in documentation, but that would lose the mnemonic. Should we mention both (and the mnemonic?), explaining that they are the same? Sort of confusing too. What about `C-c m'? Hmm. ^ permalink raw reply [flat|nested] 3+ messages in thread

Right. Hm. But the `C-x RET' family of keybindings should also be called `C-x C-m' if we wanted to have mnemonics. For the moment, I think it is better to be consistent. But in the long run, maybe it would be a good idea to convert both `C-x RET' and `C-c RET' to the more mnemonic form. kai -- ~/.signature ^ permalink raw reply [flat|nested] 3+ messages in thread
