Subject: Check for existing groups when sending: what should happen?
Date: Sun, 22 Jul 2001 00:48:04 +0200	[thread overview]
Message-ID: <vaf3d7p7vbv.fsf@lucy.cs.uni-dortmund.de> (raw)

I recently submitted a change so that Gnus looks at the right server
when checking whether the groups mentioned in the Newsgroups header
(and some others) are bogus.

But the new version only looks for groups you are subscribed to, the
old version was happy even with unsubscribed groups.

It's not clear to me which behavior is better, though: normally, it
does not make sense to post to unsubscribed groups. But it might
happen via crossposting.

Opinions?
