Replying to Newsgroup/Author and Setting Scores.

Hi,

I have just started using gnus and I have two questions.

Can anyone please tell me how to reply to both the author of an article and to post to the newsgroup at the same time.

Also can someone tell me if it is possible to mark a set of articles, maybe several hundred, and lower the score on all of them so that I don't see them or the replies that are posted in future.

Type r or R to reply to the author only.  Type f or F to send a
followup to the newsgroup.  When composing the article, type C-c C-t
to insert the address of the author of the message replying to into
the message being composed.

To summarize:  you read an article in a newsgroup.  You type f to
compose a followup.  While composing, you type C-c C-t.  Then you see
both the newsgroup and the name of the author of the original message
in the headers.

Use lowercase r or f to compose a message, use uppercase R or F to
automatically insert the message being replied to into your message
(aka citing).
