Hello,
sorry, this may be a basic question, but found nothing in the docs:
How do I tell gnus (v5.8.7) to start xv for displaying jpegs
(hitting 'v' in the article buffer gnus allways asks me for a
viewer)? Neither the gnus info docs nor the emacs-mime info file
tell me how to set this up.

`v' is intended to ask for a viewer. What happens when you hit `RET'?
If this starts the wrong program, make an entry in ~/.mailcap like so:
image/jpeg; xv %s
I use `image/*' rather than `image/jpeg' because xv seems to be a good
program for all kinds of images.
