Errr.  I meant to say it's a strange name for a variable that
influences Gnus' behavior.

I know that it is really an rmail variable and that Lars just used it
for Gnus, as well.  Yet, people are frequently surprised that they
should set a variable not starting with `gnus' or `nn' or `message' to
influence Gnus' behavior.
