I observe the following: IF I write a message with Latin-1 characters in it (German Umlaute), AND IF I use the Gcc header to write the message to a group, THEN the Gcc'ed copy contains the multibyte prefix \201 for each Umlaut character. If I send the mail to myself, there is no problem. If I both send it and Gcc it, then the Gcc'ed copy on disk has the prefix characters and the sent copy doesn't. Additional piece of information: the Gcc'ed copy contains no MIME headers whatsoever. What's going on here? I think I remember a problem with missing MIME processing when doing Gcc in older versions of Gnus (maybe a year ago?), but that has been solved already. Tomo?
