In browsing a book last night I found the following:

Quassia (Picraena excelsa)
Common Names: Bitter Ash,Bitter Wood
Properties and Uses:
An infusion of quassia wood has been used to treat fever,
rheumatism, and dyspepsia. Taken internally, it kills
roundworms, and as enema it kills pinworms. The tea is also
said to destroy appetite for alcohol. An infusion also serves
as a rinse to counteract dandruff.

Ref: The Herb Book, by John Lust, isbn 0-553-12242-8,
publication details given so that no-one thinks this
is a delayed 1 April 1998 posting.

What does that tell us with respect to the beginning of
http://www.stud.ifi.uio.no/~larsi/larsi.html ("Instant slut; just add
alcohol")? Now? :-)

Robley> An infusion also serves as a rinse to counteract dandruff.
