Gnus comes with a configure script. Say "./configure --help" for
information, then call the script for real (with the right switches).
Then "make", then "make install". I think there's also an INSTALL
file with installation instructions.
Please install the new Gnus version in some directory _other_ than the
one the original Gnus lives in. Then, use
(add-to-list 'load-path "/path/to/dir/with/gnus/el/files/")
to tell Emacs about it.

Hi,
I am using the gnus pacakage supplied with xemacs 20.4. I wanted to
use a newer one. How do i go about it.
I mean after downloading the package, do ihave to delete the older
package or will there be an upgrade script or something.I am on linux.
