No, at least not as far as I'm concerned.  I wanted to say that
strings everywhere would be the best *if it worked*.

I guess most people do like

    (setq gnus-secondary-select-methods '((nnfolder "")))

and don't think about it any further.

It's not clear to me whether it is better to document the current
confusing situation, or whether the situation should be changed first,
so that the documentation can be shorter.
