So I am coping with my life, and tagging around 10k files for
expiration/read/replied tags manually again. Oh joy.

Anyways, I was done with a group with 2k files in my nnml dir, and I
quit gnus, and restarted gnus from a different X terminal and horror,
all the "*" are still there, and all my tags are gone again.

I have quit/restarted gnus various times, and those "*" things do not
go away. What can I do to remedy this situation?

Miguel.

I don't know. Let's first find out what's wrong. Are you saying that
the group is displayed as `*: foo' in the group buffer rather than
`42: foo' where 42 is the number of unread messages?

Have you got another group (from the same server) which is okay? Type
`G e' on both groups and compare. Type `G E' on both groups and
compare.
