Some people might want new groups to be subscribed automatically. But some people don't want that, because they are normally not interested in the new groups. So it might be better to kill the new groups, rather than subscribing them. But if you kill new groups, you can't tell which groups are new, anymore. The new groups will be amongst all those uninteresting groups. Hence zombie groups. They are almost like killed groups, except that you can do `A z' to see the list of new groups (if you set gnus-subscribe-newsgroup-method to gnus-subscribe-zombies). After `A z', you `C-k' (kill) the ones you don't want and you `u' (subscribe) the ones you like. And when tomorrow there are three more new groups, `A z' lists just those three. kai --=20 Be indiscrete. Do it continuously.
