Hi,
I'm including part of a massage from comp.risks. Note that Gnus (0.79
here) makes one line invisible - the missing text is between "from a"
and "Article by Ted Bridis" - altering the content in an interesting
way.

Subject: Doctors to perform surgery over next-generation Internet
Date: Wed, 24 Feb 1999 11:08:44 -0500
The $500M Abiline Network is planned as a 2.4 gigabit/sec link among a few
dozen research universities. To demonstrate this, a doctor in Washington
DC's Union Station will work with a surgical team at Ohio State performing
laparoscopic surgery on a volunteer patient suffering from a
gastrointestinal disorder [an Internaut? seeking gut reactions?]. [Source:

The middle line up there wasn't hidden when I tried reading
comp.risks... Are you able to reproduce this reliably?

Looks okay to me, using 0.79 on Emacs 20.3.

I see this, too. When I set gnus-tread-hide-boring-headers to nil,
it's shown, if t, it's hidden. Can you verify this?

I wasn't seeing it before, but...

I tried setting gnus-tread-hide-boring-headers to t and sure enough I
got the bad behavior. But that's OK since
gnus-treat-hide-boring-headers should be set to 'head (what I
previously had it set to) since it only makes sense in the headers
anyway.

Indeed. Gnus seems to think that "... Source:" is a header.
The following patch helps (it also prevents headers which end with a
colon to be deemed "boring"), but the real puzzler is why
`article-narrow-to-head' does not work correctly.

A-ha! I think my patch should be applied anyway, as some non-boring
headers could be hidden, too.
